The perfect printer for the hobbyist or moonlighter, the SG500 fits comfortably on a desktop, and prints on media up to 8.5 x 14 (22 x 36 cm) with up to 4800 x 1200 dpi, allowing for extremely fine detail in photos and text. This allows you to apply custom artwork to a wide variety of popular, high-margin items, from mugs and coasters to phone cases and awards.
The SG500 print speed is over twice as fast as competitive printers, letting users spend more time making products and less time waiting for output. With an automatic maintenance cycle as long as it is powered on, users who leave it on do not have to worry about dried ink in the lines or print heads.
In addition to design improvements such as a single roll-bar, the SG500 is more energy-efficient, prints with higher resolution, and offers WiFi connectivity. This means you’ll enjoy higher quality products and greater ease of use, at a price comparable to the previous model.
Sawgrass Print Utility
Because different materials and papers affect the way colors appear on sublimated items, it’s important to adjust the ink output to ensure optimal quality. Sawgrass Print Utility is a software utility that automatically makes those adjustments for you. Print Utility works in the background, managing the flow of color information from your digital artwork to your Sawgrass printer. This reduces wasted ink (saving you money) and ensures the colors on your finished products are as accurate and vibrant as possible.
Currently, Sawgrass Print Utility does not support Apple's ARM processors. However, to ensure full compatibility and performance, they are testing and optimizing their software for ARM processors. There is no release date yet to when it will be released.
MacOS 10.13 High Sierra – End of Life: In keeping with Apple’s release cycle, macOS 10.13 High Sierra will no longer be receiving security updates as of November 30, 2020. As a result, Sawgrass is phasing out software support for all computers running macOS 10.13 High Sierra and will end technical support for this version in January 2021.

Backward Compatibility
